Fairy fort in Courtbrack, County Cork: a circular earthen ringfort about forty metres across, still standing in pasture. Its north entrance and south bank survive, the bank a metre and a half high and stone-faced, now caught inside the field fence. People may have lived there, kept stock there, or simply avoided it after dark; the earth keeps all three possibilities without choosing.

In pasture. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m) on 1842, 1904 and 1937 OS 6-inch maps. Hartnett (1939, 282) recorded well-preserved bank with entrance to N. Section of bank (H 1.5m) survives to S, incorporated into field fence system; stone-faced externally. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
