No fairy ever danced inside the Coolrus fort, though people still call it one. Earth and stone built a complete trap for human eyes, measuring forty-three metres across on a gentle south-facing slope. The north edge rises higher and wider than the south, creating a shadowed box where sunlight must obey the builder's intention. Pasture now covers the interior, but the scarped boundary remains sharp enough to stop a charging horse or mark the limit of a household's world.

In pasture, on gentle S-facing slope. Circular area (43.3m N-S; 43m E-W) defined by scarped edge, with external fosse (Wth 2m) and counter-scarp bank (ext. H 0.65m) S->N. Scarp is more pronounced N->S (H 1.45m; Wth 5.7m), than S->N (H 0.6m; Wth 3.1m). external fosse (D 0.2m) and counter-scarp bank (ext. H 0.65m). Interior, under pasture, slopes down gently to S.
