Fairy fort in Coolrus, County Limerick: a 43-metre earthen ring on a pasture crest, with two banks, a narrow fosse, and a southeast gap where entry still seems likely. The southern earth has been softened, yet the circle remains clear above the grass, enclosing a rock outcrop and a faint raised shadow inside. People may have lived there, feared it, or simply passed it with bread in their pockets and no question asked.

In pasture, on crest of SE-facing slope. Circular area (43.5m N-S; 43m E-W) enclosed by two concentric earthen banks with intervening fosse (Wth 1.4m). Inner bank (int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1.15m) and external bank (int. H 0.8m; ext. H 1.35m) partially levelled S->WSW. Break in bank (Wth c. 3.5m) at SSE. Interior surface slopes down gently to S and is under pasture; In NE quadrant is slightly raised roughly D-shaped area (with indistinct edges) and in SE quadrant is large irregular rock outcrop.
