Fairy fort in Coolcaw, County Longford: a 33m circular earthwork in wet pasture, its low bank and shallow fosse still tracing a place set apart. The western gap may be the entrance, inviting entry into a hidden room of grass, rain and memory. Local story calls it a fairy fort, which is not dismissal but a clue: the ordinary shape has stopped being ordinary, and imagination must finish what measurement leaves behind.

In low-lying, wet pasture. A raised circular area (diam. c. 33m) enclosed by a partially denuded, wide, low bank of earth and stone (Wth 3.1m; H 0.3m) with a shallow external fosse (Wth 2.6m; D 0.2-0.5m).
