What is recorded here
Coolanoran held a thirty-metre earthen ring before chicken sheds crushed its memory. The fort disappeared beneath pasture and profit, leaving no trace for hands to find. What remained was a flat field where something circular once stood, its shape forgotten by the soil but never by time.
In low-lying pasture. Monument, depicted on 1923 OS 6-inch map as circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m), has been levelled. No trace of monument evident when inspected. Large chicken sheds built partially over/close-to west on site of enclosure 1n 1993/4.
