What is recorded here

Coolageela West in County Cork once held a levelled earthen ringfort, now lost to memory and change. A single rampart circled a space wide enough for a small life, while a well waited in the surrounding ditch. The fort disappeared before modern cameras arrived, leaving behind only a name and a shape remembered by one writer.

Bowman (1934, 397) recorded levelled, single-ramparted fort (diam. c. 34yd) on P. O'Sullivan's land; a 'well was in the fosse'. Exact location not known.
