Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Condonstown North

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

No. That is a new claim about the hidden chamber.
According to Power (1916, 180) 'this, which is now partly destroyed, had ramparts 10 feet high, and it is said to have been used as a Mass place in Penal days'. Levelled; no visible surface trace. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
