Coltstown holds a forty-metre circular bank that men called a fairy fort because human reason abandoned the shape. It is an earthen ringfort, not a palace for invisible creatures, yet the mislabelled name admits the border between knowledge and story. A shallow fosse still traces the edge where someone stood above the plain, watched the field turn, and left no warning behind.
Shown on the 1907 OS 6-inch map as a circular area defined by a bank. Traces of a bank are visible indicating a circular area (diam. c. 40m). Described in 1955 as a platform ringfort with a shallow enclosing fosse (Danaher 1955, no. 282).
