What is recorded here

Half a kilometre of forgotten life still stands in Cloonlara South: a subcircular rath forty-two metres across, its two banks and central ditch unbroken except where later tracks and fields cut through. The gaps at southeast and southwest may be original entrances, places where people entered, left marks, and disappeared into ordinary history. What is missing is not the shape but the voices that moved through it.

In level grassland. Well-preserved subcircular rath (E-W 42m, N-S 39m) defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. A trackway cuts the monument at NE and NW; no visible surface trace of the fosse or outer bank survive to N of it. A pit has encroached upon the enclosing elements at E, and a field boundary cuts the monument at N and S. Gaps at SE and SW may be original.
