What is recorded here

Cloonkeen East holds a 38-metre oval fort with a 2.8-metre earthen bank, a seven-metre southern entrance, and a shallow external ditch. It stands in pasture on a south-facing slope, shaping the local landscape as a rare surviving ringfort rather than a vague fairy tale. People may have lived, herded, or hidden there before the field swallowed the evidence, yet the bank still marks the boundary between human ambition and regional memory.

In pasture, on S-facing slope. Oval area (diam. 38.5m N-S; 30.5m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 2.8m), with external fosse (D 0.3m) SE->SW. Entrance (Wth 7m) to S, with causeway.
