Cloonaghmore once held a forty-metre circular fortress, but human arrogance or forgetting deleted it. Two substantial banks and two fosses enclosed a living space where people likely breathed, loved and faced the dark. A western causeway invited entry into that forgotten chamber. The land took back what it could, erasing the shape while keeping the lesson that visibility is not the same as truth.

In a hollow in pasture. A report in 1975 (SMR file) recorded a raised circular area (diam. c. 40m) enclosed by two substantial banks of earth and stone and two fosses. It was divided into roughly equal portions by a modern NW-SE roadway. A break in the bank at SW with an accompanying causeway probably marked the original entrance.
