Fairy fort in Cloneary, County Cavan: a raised circular area, 43 metres across, enclosed by a low earthen bank and a wide, deep, partly waterlogged fosse. The eastern, southern and western ditches have largely filled in, the entrance has vanished, and vegetation now strangles the whole place. An earlier report mentioned a possible underground passage at the centre, but no one has confirmed it since. The fort is both hidden and exposed: visible enough to measure, buried enough to forget.

Raised circular area (int. diam. 43m ENE-WSW) enclosed by a low earthen bank and a wide, deep, partly waterlogged fosse. From E-S-WSW fosse has been largely infilled. Original entrance not recognisable. An earlier report (OPW 1969) recorded a possible Man-made underground passage at the centre of the internal area (CV013-009002-).
