What is recorded here

Clasheel held a forty-metre earthen ringfort that resisted human claim for centuries, surviving even the field fences that cut across it on later maps. People called it a fairy fort, perhaps because it belonged to no one they could point to, or because it watched the pasture without ever answering back. When machinery levelled it around 1979, the earth did not scream or resist. It simply stopped being a place people could imagine, leaving behind a flat field where the unseen still might breathe.
