No fairy ever danced inside Clashbredane. Earth, stone and human hands built the ringfort, while local imagination later renamed it. That is not the same as pretending the truth.

In pasture, on S-facing slope. Oval area (41.2m E-W; 33m N-S) enclosed by earthen bank (max. H 2.8m) with external fosse (D 0.7m). Berm along outerface on E bank may be due to slippage. Upright stones visible in places along top of bank, protruding c. 0.1m-0.2m above surface, particularly on W side. Bank stone-faced internally on E side. Stone-faced entrance to SE. Interior slopes down towards entrance. Field boundary respects enclosure on N side. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
