Bredanes Grave

On S-facing slope, c. 45m S of rocky, gorse-grown ridge. Remains comprise gallery (L 3m; Wth c. 1.1m at W end, c. 0.9m at E) aligned ENE-WSW; represented by two sidestones to N and S and backstone at E end; buttress-stone to S of gallery. Three stones at W end cross gallery atright angles; these may represent facade or, perhaps, division between portico and chamber. Single stone to SW appears to be sole remains of outer walling. Portal dolmen; likely dates to the Early Bronze Age. Its alignment and surviving orthostats indicate a ceremonial or funerary function typical of megalithic traditions in the region.
