What is recorded here

Claragh Beg held a thirty-metre earthen ring on a north-facing slope, visible in maps from 1842 to 1938 before pasture and plough erased most of the bank. People called it a fairy fort, perhaps because the field swallowed the human shape and left behind a story about unseen tenants. What remains is a low boundary line and the memory that the land once drew a circle around itself.

In pasture, on N-facing slope. Hachured as circular enclosure (diam. c.30m) on 1842, 1904 and 1938 OS 6-inch maps. Levelled; field boundary respecting enclosure to NW may incorporate remains of bank (H 0.7m) for a distance of c. 7m.
