What is recorded here

Fairy forts are earthen rings, not fantasy. This one in Churchtown is a true ringfort: a circular grassy field enclosed by a low earthen bank and a sharper scarped edge on part of the circumference. The interior slopes slightly downward toward the northeast, and cattle still walk across it. People may have lived there long before the fairies entered the name, but the earth kept the shape while human memory thinned.

In undulating pasture. Circular area (28.4m N-S; 31.1m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.2m) E->NW and defined by scarped edge (H 1.2m; Wth 1.5m) NW->E.
