What is recorded here

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Cartron (roscommon By., Rossmore Ed) is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Cartron (roscommon By., Rossmore Ed), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a slight east-west ridge at the bottom of the north-facing slope of Rathcroghan and appears only on the 1927 edition of the Ordnance Survey six-inch map. The circular grass-covered area measures thirty-one metres north-south and twenty-nine metres east-west, bounded by an earthen bank that narrows to a low scarp toward the south-east and south-west. Entrance gaps break the bank at the north, north-north-east, east, south-east and west, while a small low mound lies south-west of the centre.
Marked only on the 1927 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on a slight E-W ridge at the bottom of the N-facing slope of Rathcroghan. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 31m N-S; 29m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2.7-3.8m; int. H 0.4-0.5m; ext. H 0.9m) which is reduced to a scarp (H 0.3m) SE-SW. There is no visible fosse, but there are entrance gaps at N, NNE, E, SE and W. A low mound (dims 6m x 4.5m; H 0.3m), which may be spoil, is SW of the centre.
