Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Cartron (ballymoe By., Cloonygormican Ed) is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Cartron (ballymoe By., Cloonygormican Ed), County Roscommon, Ireland. It is a circular grass-covered area 33m across, defined by an earthen bank 2.7-3.8m wide and 0.9-1.8m high externally, with a rounded fosse surviving WSW-N but quarried away NE-ESE. A rath (RO035-031----) lies c. 180m to the SSW.
On a gentle E-facing slope. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 33m N-S; 33m E-W) defined by an earthen bank with some bushes (Wth 2.7-3.8m; int. H 0.1-0.4m; ext. H 0.9-1.8m) which is reduced to a scarp (H 1m) S-W. A rounded fosse (Wth of top 4-4.2m; Wth of base 1-2m; D 0.4-0.85m) survives WSW-N but has been quarried away NE-ESE, and there are other quarries outside the perimeter at S. There is no identifiable original entrance, but relict field banks (Wth 1.4-2m; H 0.4-0.6m) are attached to the perimeter at WNW and NE. Rath (RO035-031----) is c. 180m to the SSW.
