Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Carrowkeel (corran By.) is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Carrowkeel (corran By.), County Sligo, Ireland. The circular area measures 34m x 32m internally and is enclosed by a heavily eroded earthen bank 1.6m wide. The bank stands 0.8m high internally and 1.6m externally, with its best preservation on the northwest side. The site occupies pasture on a ledge overlooking the Owenmore river to the southeast.
In pasture on a ledge overlooking the Owenmore river to SE. A circular area (int. diam. 34m x 32m) enclosed by a heavily eroded earthen bank (Wth 1.6m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 1.6m) which is best preserved on the NW side. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
