What is recorded here

Carrigduff held a thirty-three-metre earthen ring on a south-facing slope, visible enough for the 1842 survey but now levelled beneath pasture. The land swallowed the fort, yet the shape remains in memory and map. People may have lived there, feared there or raved about fairies there. The soil keeps the argument private.
