Carrigaline Middle holds a broken fairy fort where a sharp ringfort still stands ninety metres away. The fort lost its wall to ploughs and time, but it kept its shape: a shallow oval dish on a south-facing slope, with a faint outer trench and a possible hidden passage beneath the grass. One place was erased and one place was preserved. The landscape kept both truths at the same time.

In pasture, on S-facing slope. Levelled; circular, slightly raised area (43.1m N-S; 37.5m E-W) defined by low rise (ext. H 0.6m). Trace of fosse (D 0.8m) outside. Interior scarped up to S to compensate for hillslope. Possible Man-made underground passage (CO087-089----) within. Ringfort (CO087-031----) c. 90m to NE. See Excavations 2002, 62-3.
