What is recorded here

Carraicreen is a hidden fort above Sillan Lough, remembered more in mapping and legend than in visible stone. It stands on a tall ridge where the land folds like a wave, and that shape may be why people called it a fairy fort: not a home for humans, but a threshold place where imagination enters. The chamber has no wall, no door and no light, yet it receives everything written above.

Marked 'Fort' on OS 1836 ed. and 'Site of' on 1876 ed. Situated on the summit of a drumlin hill overlooking Sillan Lough 200m to SW. Not visible at ground level.
