Fairy fort in Camas, County Limerick: a 36-metre earthen ring with a ditches and gaps, half choked in scrub. People may have lived inside it, excluded others at the eastern gap, and forgotten the name of the first hand that dug its bank.
In level pasture. Circular area (diam. c. 36m) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1.85m; ext. H 2.5m) with external fosse (Wth 2m; D 1.25m), with faint trace of counterscarp bank NW->E. Gap (Wth 2m) in bank at E. Fosse infilled with earth and rubble SW->NW. Enclosing element covered by bushes and scrub. Level interior is largely covered by scrub overgrowth.
