Lisheennatraw, meaning little fort of the strand, stood as a circular earthen enclosure in Caherulla until human hands levelled it completely. Maps drawn in 1842 and 1916 still mark its ghost, but the ground itself has forgotten the shape. What remains is a vacancy, a place where a fort should be but isn't, inviting imagination to fill the hole left behind.

Lisheennatraw/Lisín na Tráigh (little fort of the strand) is marked on the 1842 and 1916 OS maps as a circular enclosure. This site has been completely levelled and no surface trace remains.
