Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Caherhenryhoe

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Caherhenryhoe holds a faded ringfort where a five-metre earthen bank still marks a twenty-two-metre circle on a sunny Galway slope. The ground has swallowed most of its shape, leaving only a faint angular ridge that invites imagination about the people who lived there.
On S-facing slope of a rise in grassland. Very poorly preserved circular rath (diam. 22.8m) defined by a faint angular earthen bank (Wth c. 5m; H 0.1-0.25m). Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 18 February 2019
