Fairy fort in Bruse, County Cavan: a raised circular area, 30.2 metres across inside a substantial earthen bank and wide deep fosse, its original entrance marked by a causeway at the south-south-east. The bank still stands best from west through north to south-east, while elsewhere it has worn level with the interior, and a modern laneway now passes outside where the fosse has filled. People may have lived, herded or hidden there before the earth took the shape back; the causeway still points to the door they used.

Raised circular area (int. diam. 30.2m) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and a wide, deep fosse. The fosse has been infilled and a modern laneway runs outside the bank from S-SSW-SW. Bank best preserved from W-N-SE. Elsewhere denuded to level of interior. Break in bank with remains of causeway at SSE represents original entrance.
