Fairy fort in Brierfort, County Galway: a subcircular earthen ringfort, 37.5m by 33m, with two banks, a fosse, and a possible 5m eastern entrance on a low hill overlooking a turlough. It is the kind of place where people may have kept livestock, marked territory, or simply made a boundary the eye could not forget. The radiating banks at SE and S suggest the ground was worked more than once, as if the fort kept giving back shapes nobody now names.

On E-facing slope of a low hill in undulating grassland overlooking a turlough to SE. Subcircular rath (N-S 37.5m, E-W 33m), in fair condition, defined by two earthen banks and an intervening fosse. There is a possible entrance (Wth 5m) at E. A subrectangular hollow in SW section of the interior appears modern. Earthen banks radiating from the monument at SE and S may be associated.
