Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Brickendown is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Brickendown, County Tipperary, Ireland. The circular earthwork measures 33 metres east to west and 32 metres north to south. Its bank is 7.75 metres wide overall, 1.5 metres wide at the top, 0.6 metres high internally and 2.1 metres high externally.
In generally level, elevated area of improved pasture. Circular area (dims. 33m E-W; 32m N-S) defined by bank (overall Wth 7.75m; Wth at top 1.5m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 2.1m) with occasional breaches. Possible entrance (overall Wth 8m; basal Wth 3.5m) at S and more recent gap (overall Wth 3m; basal Wth 2m) at NNE. Fosse (overall Wth 7.25m; basal Wth 2.7m; D 0.75m) has been deepened SE-SSE and is waterlogged WNW-NW. Wide causeway (overall Wth 12m) S-SSW, has possibly been modified by additional backfilling of soil. Second causeway (Wth 3m) at WSW, possibly due to erosion by livestock causing slippage into fosse. Interior is generally level. Ringfort (TS061-080----) is c. 28m to WNW.
