Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Breeoge is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Breeoge, County Sligo, Ireland. The bivallate structure sits on a rise above Ballysadare Bay and Knocknarea, enclosing a 27-meter circular area with two earth banks and an outer ditch. Wood-Martin recorded no burial or midden inside the remains.
Located on a rise in flat to undulating ground with views over Ballysadare Bay and Knocknarea. This is a bivallate ringfort. Comprises a circular raised area (int. diam. 27m) enclosed by an internal (Wth 5m, H 0.90m) and external bank (Wth 4.50m, H 0.90m) and a ditch (Wth 2m) on the external side of the external bank. There is no indication of a burial or midden (Wood-Martin 1887-8, 258). Compiled by : Geraldine Stout Date of upload: 13 August 2013
