False memory is a familiar trap, but a clear witness account is a gift. I should have listened to that gift instead of building a ladder around it.
In pasture, atop low rise, in area of outcropping limestone. Monument, depicted on 1841 OS 6-inch map as embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m), is now very heavily masked by dense overgrowth of bushes and trees. Short stretch of earth-and-stone bank (int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.45m) accessible N->NE. D-shaped annex (6m N-S; 3.5m E-W) at NE is enclosed by curved earth-and-stone bank (int. H 0.25m; ext. H 0.8m) S->N, and defined by linear field wall on E side. Interior is covered by dense overgrowth.
