What is recorded here

Meadowland in County Clare still holds a faded oval rath, its low earthen bank barely rising above the grass while later field walls cut across the forgotten shape. The fort sits at the foot of a ridge, overlooked by an ecclesiastical enclosure, suggesting human life and belief once layered the same quiet ground. Its name, Fairy fort, preserves local wonder rather than proven fact, leaving the true purpose and tenants lost beneath time and turf.

On good quality level meadowland at the SE foot of a low ridge. A poorly preserved oval rath (int. dims. 36m NW–SE; 32m ENE–WSW crest to crest) defined by a low and generally flat-topped earthen bank (ext. H 0.3–0.7m; int. H 0.3–0.9m). There is no visible trace of an outer fosse or entrance and later field walls traverse the site. The site is overlooked by an ecclesiastical enclosure and associated remains (CL002-014001-to CL002-014004-) c. 150m to the N.
