Fairy fort in Ballyvaloon, County Cork. Circular earthworks, two banks, a causeway entrance, conifers inside. People may have lived there before becoming a fairy story. The shape still works like a room built for watching, hiding or remembering.

In level pasture. Circular area (33.4m E-W; 32m N-S) defined by two earthen banks (inner bank: int. H 1.4m; outer bank: max. H 2.1m) with intervening fosse; outer fosse (D 0.35m) survives to S. Entrance (Wth c. 4.5m) to SSE, with causeway; smaller gaps in banks to E. Enclosure planted with coniferous trees.
