What is recorded here

No fort remains visible in Ballysimon, only a hidden underground passage and the memory of a levelled rampart. That absence makes the place harder to forget, because what is missing must be imagined. The land may have worn the fort away while people kept using the field, but the dug passage still waits beneath the soil.

In pasture, on gentle N-facing slope. No visible surface trace of site. Recorded by Bowman (1934, 562) as levelled single-ramparted fort (diam. c. 33yd) on W. Hanlon's land.
