Half a kilometre of forgotten footsteps may have worn the eastern gap smooth before ploughs erased the outer bank. The fort stands thirty-four metres across on a north-facing slope, its inner scarp still holding the shape of a lived-in circle while the river below keeps moving. What is left is enough to see the hands that built it and the patience that maintained it.

Situated on the N facing slope of rising ground overlooking river immediately below to the N. Raised roughly circular area (diam 34m E-W; H max. 2m) enclosed by two earthen banks with intervening fosse (Wth 2m; ext. D 0.5m) with destroyed entrance gap (Wth 2.5m) at E. The inner bank is reduced to a scarp in most places while the fosse and external bank (Wth 1m; ext. H 0.5m) are destroyed from W through N to NE.
