Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballynisky

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballynisky stands in level pasture as a thirty-five-metre circle, marked by a shallow scarped edge and external fosse. The ground remains quiet beneath grass, yet the shape suggests people once drew a line around their lives and left the rest to rain and memory.
In level pasture. Enclosure, visible as circular cropmark on aerial photograph (LAS), now evident as circular area (35m NE-SW; 36m NW-SE) defined by scarped edge (Wth 2.5m; H 0.2m) with external fosse (Wth 5m; D 0.1m) which is most evident SW-NE.
