Fairy forts are earthen rings people built and forgot, but this one in Ballyneety still stands beside ordinary pasture. Its bank, ditch and small entrance preserve the shape of a home, workshop or meeting place from before written memory. Cattle have worn part of it smooth, yet the ring remains clear enough to walk around and imagine the lives that turned it into a landmark.

In pasture, on gentle S-facing slope. Roughly circular area (26.8m N-S; 29.9m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank with external fosse (D 1m; W 3.1m). Bank (int. H 0.65m; ext. H 2m) is best preserved W->N, but worn down by cattle at S. Fosse is widest and flat-bottomed along N arc. A field boundary skirts along outer edge of fosse SSW->NE, so that enclosure occupies NE corner of field. Bank lowers at ESE for c. 2.15m where matched by causeway across fosse.
