Fairy fort in Ballynakill, County Galway: a worn circular earthwork near Ballynakill Church, likely an old rath rather than a home for fairies. Cattle have opened gaps in its bank, and a field edge now covers part of the south side, yet the shape still reads as a deliberate enclosure. It stands just outside an early church boundary, as if domestic life, worship and invention had all circled the same place before forgetting smoothed them into one.

Some 50m SSE of Ballynakill Church (GA007-035----), just outside the line of an early ecclesiastical enclosure (GA007-035002-). Poorly preserved subcircular rath (N-S 38m, E-W 35m) defined by a low bank breached by numerous cattle gaps. A field bank overlies the enclosing element at S.
