Marianne and her children walked beside the fort, touching the cool grass and listening for the life hidden under the soil. They wondered whether children had played there, whether women had sung, and whether the fort had watched over Ballymullen for centuries. Marianne smiled at the idea that a small circle of earth could hold so much lost life.

A circular area (diam. c. 32.5m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth c. 2.2m; int. H c. 0.8m, ext. H c. 1.5m) from NE-NW, and an external fosse (Wth c. 4.3m) from NE-SE. No other visible surface remains.
