Fairy fort in Ballylooby: a raised oval earthwork about thirty metres across, still standing in pasture near Bohercarron. People called it a fairy fort because the shape suggested more than ordinary farming, yet it may have been a home, shelter or boundary marker for someone long gone. The earth remembers hands that shaped it; the fairies are only the story we invent when the true name has vanished.

In pasture 200m W of the townland boundary with Bohercarron. Depicted on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a raised oval-shaped platform (dims. c. 30m NW-SE; 26m NE-SW) defined by a scarp. Surveyed by Henry A. Wheeler in 1966 and described as a well preserved circular-shaped platform ringfort with a shallow fosse.
