Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballylin, Part of (shanid By., Lismakeery Ed) stands atop a low hill in County Limerick, Ireland. Two concentric earthen banks enclose a roughly circular space thirty-one metres wide, separated by a narrow ditch and marked by a causeway entrance at the northwest. A small mound of earth and stone sits slightly northeast of the centre, while scrub vegetation and old field walls now trim the edges of the ring.
Atop low hill, in area of waste-ground covered by scrub vegetation. Roughly circular area (31m E-W) enclosed by two concentric earthen banks with intervening fosse (Wth 2.3m) and external fosse (D 0.3m; Wth 1.8m). Inner bank (int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.6m) best preserved at NNW. Outer bank (ext. H 1.1m) has a berm (max. Wth 8m) separating it's inner face (H 0.2m) from external edge of intervening fosse SE->NE. All enclosing elements, except the inner bank, are truncated by linear dry-stone field wall (N-S axis) ENE->ESE. A low earth-and-stone field boundary (max. ext. H 0.55m) skirts around outer edge of external fosse SE->NNE, and is abutted at NNE by a dry-stone wall which replaces bank for a short distance before veering off to NE. Causeway entrance (Wth 2.45m) at NW. Interior level and partially covered by overgrowth. A small mound (H c. 0.35m) of earth and stone (2m NE-SW; 1.3m NW-SE) lies immediately NE of centre.
