Fairy forts are human make: ringforts misnamed after being forgotten. In Ballygown, a broad shallow circle still lies south of Johnsgrove House, but the sharp rim has been lost. People may have lived there, or kept stock, or left a hollow for another age to call magical. The land remembers shape even when pride and boundary are gone.

In pasture, on S-facing slope, in parkland to S of Johnsgrove House. Depicted only on 1935 OS 6-inch map as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m). According to local information levelled c. 1964. Circular area (28m E-W; 25m N-S) defined by low, spread out, rise.
