What is recorded here
Fairy fort in Ballygeel, County Limerick: a level circular rath, 22.3m by 21.7m, on a low broad rise, with a scarped edge and shallow outer fosse. Two gaps break the rim at NE and SE, as if the fort still expects visitors. The clearing is dry and quiet, more like a forgotten parlor than a ruin.
In level pasture, on crest of low broad rise. Circular area (22.3m N-S; 21.7m E-W) defined by scarped edge (H 0.9m; Wth 0.95m) with external fosse (D 0.25m; Wth 3.2m). Gaps across scarped edge at NE (Wth 3.7m) and SE (Wth 1.85m). Interior level, dry and clear of overgrowth.
