Fairy forts are human places misnamed because people stopped remembering they were human. This is an earthen ringfort in Ballyfauskeen, County Limerick, drawn as a rough enclosure in 1840 and still visible as an oval band of earth beside pasture. It stands near another ringfort and an excavated fulacht fia, suggesting a busy borderland where people lived, cooked, gathered and were forgotten. The fairies are only the shape of that forgetting.

In improved pasture, 215m E of a stream that marks the townland boundary with Curraghturk. Possible ringfort (LI049-193----) lies 15m to NW and excavated fulacht fia (LI049-196----) 90m to NE.
