Denis Power documented the Ballyea ringfort in 2011, revealing a twenty-five-metre circular enclosure on a north-facing slope. The earthen bank stands one metre high at its strongest point, guarding a wide eastern entrance that invites rather than repels. Sheep graze the interior today, forgetting the human hands that shaped the soil into a defensible home centuries ago.

In pasture, on N-facing hill slope. Circular area (diam. 25m) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.35m; ext. H 1.1m), with external fosse (Wth 1m; D 0.6m) SE->SW. Bank is best preserved at NW, lowers in height as it progresses up-slope (ext. H 0.6m). Entrance (Wth 5.6m) at ESE. Interior, under rough grazing, slopes down to N.
