Mortons and Delany built Ballydaly around the fort, not the other way around. The field remembers that people once measured worth in distance walked, and the fort still marks the centre of the local world.

In pasture, atop knoll, on N-facing slope. Circular area (45.6m E-W; 45.5m N-S) enclosed by eroded, earthen bank (H 1.05m) SSE->NW; scarp NW->NE; scarp (H 2m) with slight internal lip (H 0.1m) NE->ESE. Bank stone-faced externally; break (Wth 20.1m) to SE. Possible Man-made underground passage (8952) in interior.
