What is recorded here

Half a kilometre west of the A594, a low earthen bank still marks an oval platform about forty metres long. It sits on a slight rise in the Carran Depression, where surrounding ground floods after rain, suggesting the builders chose the least likely place for water to reach. A second enclosure lies ninety-five metres to the southwest, and modern field boundaries now press against its western and north-eastern edges. The fort has lost much of its shape, but it remains visible enough to imagine people living above the deluge while the valley filled around them.

A contemporary field boundary abuts the W perimeter. Visible on Digital Globe (2011-2013) and on OSi MapGenie orthophotography (2013-2018). On Google Earth (25 April 2018) another field boundary is visible abutting the NE perimeter. Another enclosure (CL010-309----) lies c. 95m to the SW.
