Fairy forts are human ringforts misnamed because people stopped remembering they were human. Ballyburden More keeps a 33.5m circular platform in pasture, reduced from a wider double-rampartled fort recorded in local information and drawn on old maps. The fairies are not the point. The forgotten builders are.

In pasture. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 50m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map; hachured raised area (diam. c. 50m) on 1903 and 1940 OS 6-inch maps. Levelled; circular platform remains (diam. 33.5m). According to local information, originally had two ramparts (Hartnett 1939, 255).
