Fairy fort in Ballybogey, County Cork: an oval earthen ringfort, about fifty metres long and thirty wide, mapped in 1842 before tillage levelled most of the bank. A low rise still traces the old line from northwest to southeast, and darker soil marks the southern edge. People may have lived there, fenced stock, or simply avoided the place because fairy stories warned them it belonged elsewhere.

In tillage, on N-facing slope. Shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map as oval enclosure (diam. c. 50m NNW-SSE; c. 30m NW-SE). Levelled; low rise NW->SE traces line of bank; differential soil colour to S.
