Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballyashea stands in County Limerick, Ireland: an oval enclosure fifty-three and a half metres long, forty-seven wide, still marked by earthen bank and external fosse. The south-west arc remains the strongest, with old stone facing still visible along part of the north-east to south-east curve. Inside, briars and ferns cover a gentle slope, while a dry-stone wall meets the enclosure at the south-east, as if the fort had grown into the living farmland rather than disappeared from it.

In pasture, on N-facing slope below brow of hill. Oval area (53.5m N-S; 47m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1.1m; ext. H 1.95m), with external fosse SW->NNE (Wth 2.1m; D 0.45m). Bank, best preserved along SW arc, has remains of stone facing NNE->SE. Field boundary (H 1.45m) runs along base of fosse WNW->NNE. Interior, covered with briars and ferns, slopes very gently down to N. Dry-stone field wall abuts enclosure at SE.
